Flood Damage, Bentick Crescent, Troon.
With the extremely cold weather in January 2010 this property was subject to several burst pipes and at the time the owners were on holiday, as a result the water ran at mains pressure throughout the property for 5 consecutive days, causing extensive damage to around 90% of the building. The construction of the property was brick and plastered walls and plasterboard ceilings. All the ceilings in the property were removed and timbers treated prior to reinstatement of new plasterboard and insulation. Around 70% of the plaster on the walls was stripped back to the brick, allowing the walls to dry out before new backing coat and finish coat plaster was applied. Some examples are shown in the photographs.
