On booking them to plaster and cove our sitting room, Roddy sent Billy to confirm the exact price by visit. The price quoted is what we paid even though they had a few problems during the work. Roddy organised the guys to arrive on the Thursday and finish the work on the Friday.
I am always wary of contractors in the house, but I have to say, after meeting Gregg and the lads, I had no problem with them being in the house alone to work. The whole room was prepared properly ready for work to start, even covering the couch that could not be removed from the room.
The work was completed to a very high standard, and I am totally satisfied with the work done. Greg ensured that the room was cleaned as much as possible when they left (he even went looking for the vac to give a quick clean!!). He even gave proper advice for proper care of the plaster when he left.
If anyone wants a reliable contractor to do the job that they have promised to do, then I would not hesitate to recommend Roddy and Gregg at Ayrshire Plastering.Well done guys!!

I've been asked by Ayrshire Plastering to provide a testimonial for their new website so I thought rather than just a simple "Great plasterers" PS Kilmarnock. I'd provide a bit more background.
This is the second home we've done up and consequently we've used a lot of tradesmen over the years. Initially you are forced to get numerous quotes and end up going through a lot of tradesmen with various results. Eventually you end with a list of trusted folk who you know are going to do a great job. Hopefully at a reasonable price. Roddy and Greg now do all our plastering.
As all the rooms end up with plastered walls painted white (always following huge discussions with my wife) you can't afford to have anything less than a perfect finish.
Roddy and Greg have now done most of the rooms in the current house, following a disastrous experience with a cheap guy doing a "homer" who worked out neither cheap nor competent. Amongst others there were 5 bedrooms (including repairing water damage to period coving), a bathroom which was bare brick covered in plasterboard (by them) then skimmed and finally a large family room extension.
The family room was time critical as we had lots of trades lined up to follow them in and reflected best their professionalism. The room was finished to the highest standard but what impressed most was that because they are far more than a one man band they were able to descend en masse and the room was finished in an awesomely short space of time. And looks ace. No rough corners, no dodgy bits round switches, and very limited mess.
Subsequently, when the inevitable "settlement" happened following us removing some fairly substantial supporting walls and replacing them with equally substantial lengths of steel they returned my calls (over a year later) and returned within a week to fill a couple of cracks. And drink my tea (otherwise it was free of charge - in case there was any doubt). In this day and age I have found it rare to find companies that respond so professionally and promptly.
Always on time. Always on budget. Plus a lot of tea. And never offer them biscuits.
I don't give testimonials lightly, but I'm more than happy to endorse Ayrshire Plastering.
One final word of caution, on finishing a job they have been known to dance while the plaster drys.
It's not pretty.
